Location and region
The Zell am See region – Kaprun – the sphere of activity of the mountain guides Andi Gassner, Geri Kreuzberger and Max Bründl
”If paradise is half as nice …” – that is the motto of the Zell am See – Kaprun region around Großglockner, Großvenediger, Wiesbachhorn and Wilder Kaiser.
Anyone who has ever looked a little outside Europe knows that here in Central Europe we are virtually blessed with beautiful nature and wealth. There is something for everyone: the cyclist is drawn to Central Germany and Belgium, the surfer to northern Spain and the mountaineer and outdoor sportsman, yes he should find his home with us in the Hohe Tauern.
In winter, the fantastically developed ski areas of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang, Maria Alm, Kitzsteinhorn and Zell am See offer freeride possibilities of the highest class. Deep snow skiing, freeriding, snowshoeing or ice climbing: the distances are short in the Zell am See – Kaprun region and the yield, yes that is high.
In summer, the Grossglockner, the Großvenediger or the Großer Wiesbachhorn call and wait in the immediate vicinity for their ascent. Those who are more fond of rock climbing will find countless challenges in the nearby limestone poles of Hochkönig, Wilder Kaiser or Tennengebirge. Climbing areas where alpine history has been written and where you can still follow in the footsteps of famous names such as Hermann Buhl, Hias Rebitsch or Paul Preuß.
A large playground, therefore, which provides a huge offer for the leisurely, but also for the ambitious mountain sportsman due to extensive infrastructure. Now it’s your turn – convince yourself and stop by the European sports region Zell am See – Kaprun.
No matter where you come from, our region is always around the corner – the roads are never too long. From the Germanic north, the sunny south, or the original east. We are here – when are you coming?
