Glacier calling!

Kitzsteinhorn in November – At the latest when the dam snake pulls out for the first time from the glacier railway at the Kitzsteinhorn to the Maiskogelbahn, you know that winter is just around the corner! With the current epic snow situation, one of the big crowds from Italy, Germany and Eastern Europe is not surprising at all, the Tyrolean would say: ”es isch Zeit!” Thursday evening, when I was spat in the light snow drift into the quarter, I thought so too. Quickly the sliding woods are dusted, superfluous wax removed and into the horizontal so that the physical constitution can keep up with the mental motivation. Then there was nothing in the way of a delightful swing in the best autumn powder. Stone-free glacier slopes, snow up to the shin and one or the other ”Face-Shot” – Skier’s heart what more do you want! Avalanche Season Kick-Off! Parallel to the white dream, the first avalanche accident of the still unquestionably young season took place on the side slope. A ski tourer slips off with a snow pack, crashes a few meters over quite steep rocks and lands again on the slope, which is buried to a large extent. With all the luck of this earth, the lady gets away with the horror and starts with a proper Charma deficit in this winter. Especially so early in the year, when the motivation often prevails over reason, one could already learn his lessons from it now. Avalanche danger doesn’t need much snow!
