Sommer Winter

Mid season review

Mid season review

Weird winter! Who does not remember the to say the least “besch…” Winter start, after the first, abundant snowfalls in November came long nothing more. Christmas green, shaded at certain altitudes, the snow pack had plenty of time to develop rather undesirable. the next snowfall period between January 12-18 finally brought us the powder we had hoped for. Just right for the sBSSV training. Kickoff in the new year was the Pow Wow Freeride Camp in Obertauern, which honoured its name. Purely coincidental lyrised yet perfect, the group classification of the Sonder SB Landeslehrer in Hinterglemm resulted. If there were actually 5 mountain guides in a group, this meant that the teaching content was slightly expanded and OFFPISTE was very important. At the end of January, early February, new snowfalls brought a portion of the white splendour. Honestly, things went really well from the beginning of February and a fully booked February confirms this. Freeriding, ski touring, ice climbing and snowshoes are currently in high demand, with a few impressions….. Particularly pleasing this winter is the lively demand of our new “Tours and Courses” offer. Also hit our weekly, guided ski tour on the Tristkogel, 2642m. At this point again a heartfelt “thank you” to all our partners for their support. Below you will find some pictures of what we have been doing in the last few weeks, have fun looking! Finally, all that remains is to clarify the question of what happens next? As is well known, we are of course dependent on the conditions, whether winter or summer. Also known is that we are all very optimistic, that means we are convinced that the late winter or the spring will still be really horny. Our calendars are full, for me personally the spring training marathon starts from mid-March with the alpine course in Königsleiten, the ski instructor candidate in Saalbach as well as the freeride course of the ski guide training in the Pitztal. Oh yes, classic for this time the ski high tours in the Hohe Tauern follow. I wish you a nice second half of winter. Accident-free and lots of powder or firn, no matter! Gerald Kreuzberger
