Skitour
Der Hohe Sonnblick 3.105m
The Hohe Sonnblick in Rauris sure is a distinct mountain, very edgy and super prominent at the end of Rauris valley. Vast slopes make for a great ski tour, although it takes very fit people to tackle this physically challenging peak.
What’s to be expected:
As there are no huts in winter, we have to climb these 1500 vertical meters in one push. So this is nothing for rookies, experience and fitness is required. We start our climb at the very end of Rauris Valley, in Kolm Saigurn. From here we follow a series of bowls and convoluted terrain up to the glacier. After anther 2 hours we reach the Zittelhaus, a hut at the very top of the mountain. Thats great to have a cup of coffee or a beer to prepare for the descent.
