Der Hundstein 2.117m

The Hundstein in Maria Alm is a great beginners ski tour. Thanks to lift access, there is only a short hike to be done before we can enjoy a long run all the way down.

What’s to be expected:

Meeting point is Hintermoos in Maria Alm, 9 AM. We use 2 lifts and a short descent to get to the starting point of our tour. That gives us time to talk about equipment and to get used to the ski touring gear on the groomers. After a quick run through with our tranceivers we start our short hike along a beautiful and very scenic ridge. Around 1.5 hrs later we reach the summit with its 360 degree view, we enjoy the moment and have a little snack. Afterwards there is just the long rund all the way down to our starting point waiting for us!

Conditions:

• physical fitness to climb 1.5 hrs, around 250 vertical meters, necessary
• a little backcountry experience is helpful
